New Calendars Up!

Hey friends!

I just wanted to let all of your know that I uploaded new July calendars to tpt and to my Facebook fan page! Here are some jpegs and I will link the Facebook page HERE! :)

   

The two page calendars are the same design as my teacher planner.... BUT my teacher planner is too large to upload to tpt - so I need to find out how to sell it on Etsy - or compress it enough to get it uploaded to tpt.... Problems.... :)

Snow Day and An Accommodation Checklist to Share...

It's noon.... and I'm sitting here - watching Pioneer Woman making donuts... yummy. I think I'm gaining weight just watching this show. 

We are expecting snow today {in a few hours} so our county actually called off school for TWO....

We flooded last month and had school - so this is big time folks. BIG. TIME. 

I'm so excited I {may or may not} have washed some of my windows so that I can sit and watch it fall. :) That sounds bad... In my defense.... I have a dog... and he likes to lick and slobber all over them - so they have been cleaned - but I cleaned them again. No spots people.... no spots...

The last time it snowed g1 was 5 and g2 {bubby} was 4 months old. We don't get a lot of snow in south Georgia. 

Anyway - while I am on my snow day - I have been catching up on some of my paperwork. I redid my accommodations paperwork and I'd thought I'd share them here. These are for my ESOL general education teachers - but they can work in most any setting - just cross out a few things. I had a basic checklist when I was a general education teacher ... so that I could keep track of ways I was differentiating instruction in my classroom - extra supports that children were given - These became invaluable as we head into meetings. I guarantee that you are already doing many of these things in your classroom - if you aren't - here is a great way to add some things in!

sick….again...

I've been home with my little one this week. He started out running a fever this weekend… and it's been on and off for a few days now. He got up to 103 degrees last night and completely freaked me out. I took him to the doctor on Monday, but took him back today because he wasn't improving… and he has…..

a sinus infection. 

yuck.

Hopefully we can both head back to school soon. Anyone else feel guilty about being home sick? 

BUT - I wanted to share a rubric I made to hand out to my gen. ed. teachers at the beginning of the year in their ELL packets - this is just a sheet of ideas that can be used with any level ELL you might have.

I know many of my teachers have commented about having a hard time grading ELL classwork. I struggled with that also when I was in the general education classroom….so here are some ideas…

Remember - always make accommodations based on the student's level of English proficiency … and grade from there!

The Night Before Thanksgiving

I can't even begin to express how much I needed this Thanksgiving break. 

Not wanted, 

not craved…

NEEDED…

too much on my mind :) 

I dropped my kids off to spend their Thanksgiving with their father and now I am sitting

*by myself* 

at the bookstore. Sad, but happy at the same time… such a conundrum. 

I have been working….working…working… on some Magic Tree House units.

I decided it would be a great idea to add an Interactive Notebook component to the latest unit - Christmas in Camelot. 

I will upload a page for you all to look at - please - 

I would love to hear your ideas and feedback! 

Ideally - I would like to add things like this to most of my units… my issue will be time…

It's the End? Of October? What?

Wow - 

My favorite month has flown by... I mean high speed,

 flying way in the air, how the heck did it end here? 

Get me? 

My mother just informed me that Christmas was two months from today... and my stomach is getting sick just seeing a calendar with the word December on it. Anyone else?
