New Calendars Up!

Hey friends!
I just wanted to let all of your know that I uploaded new July calendars to tpt and to my Facebook fan page! Here are some jpegs and I will link the Facebook page HERE! :)

The two page calendars are the same design as my teacher planner.... BUT my teacher planner is too large to upload to tpt - so I need to find out how to sell it on Etsy - or compress it enough to get it uploaded to tpt.... Problems.... :)

Summer School Plans

I had a wonderful week off..... and I'm back.... at summer school.
:)
It's really a pretty good gig. Only a half day and we are allowed to create our curriculum.
I am working with second graders this year and I have paired with another teacher since we have such a large group of second graders. She does math and I do reading... then we switch...
We grouped them as close to their English ability levels (according to WIDA) as we could - so that we could differentiate as much as possible in the three weeks we have with them.
So - here are my plans, some screenshots of the amazing ELL resources from readingatoz.com, and some websites and an app I will be using this week as we learn about....
SHARKS!

Here is a screen shot of one of the Sharks books, and the ELL resources that accompany it!
I loved that I could choose books that aligned with my children's proficiency levels and matched up to their WIDA scores! This made planning so much easier! This will definitely be a purchase I am adding for next year!
:)

We made vocabulary books from the ELL teacher resources section ... the kids loved them! (of course I printed them out in color.... my EL babies need any and all help they can get!)

Two Birds... One Post...

How is it September already? Where did August go? Wait... Where did July go?
Wowza...

Today I am linking up with Farley for her monthly Currently
AND
Mrs. Willis for her Peek at my Week.

So - Here is my currently :)

Loving -
I had a friend come over and kick my butt  motivate me to clean by helping!
What a sport! Can I just tell you how wonderful it is to be in a nearly spotless house?
a.m.a.z.i.n.g.
I am by no means a slob - but when the school year starts - things start to pile up. Well - the piles had piles... and now - I can see my kitchen counter! WOOHOO! (little things...)
Plus - cleaning is always more fun when you have great help!
{We may or may not have had a dance party while cleaning - but that's for another day!}

Thinking -
how many days?
My schedule changed again. Now I am visiting three school a day - 6 segments. I'm not exactly sure how I am going to juggle all this - but I am going to plow ahead. {mostly because, if I stop to think about it - I will most likely have a panic-attack. And there is no time for that.}
So give me a straw - 'cause I'm sucking it up folks.

Wanting -
HELP! Some days I feel like I am not a very effective ESOL teacher.
There - I said it.
I can teach the heckito out of some reading, but some days.... I'd love to observe other teachers and see what they do - what I can add - what I may spend too much time on....

Needing -
a clone. This goes back to my loving comment. It's back to school peeps. I am treading water here - and I'm not doing a great job. By the end of this month I should be on track, but the first two months of school kick my patoot.

<3 p="">
work out.
balance work, kids, motherhood, maybe squeeze a date in there every once in awhile?
{not holding my breath.}
try and smile more - be more positive. I have had a few people tell me that I've been a negative nancy lately. BOO. I do know that if I am not actively trying to smile, I look mad. I'm not - but I appear that way to others. That makes me sad y'all! I am a really nice person IRL. I have friends! I just mean-mug. SO - that is what I will be working on. I downloaded a gratitude journal to my iPhone to try and help begin the 'flow of positivity'. I'll keep you posted.
Anyone else appear mad when they are thinking or just not focused on something?

Ready, Set, Teach!

Wow....
I've spent a few HOURS on my plans this evening.
Correlating the Georgia Common Core for each grade with WIDA standards - gets a little overwhelming at times.

BUT - I get to teach about the Civil War! {I am more excited than I should be... but you are also dealing with the girl who had a crush on Abraham Lincoln in the 4th grade}
I still remember my first research report - The Battle of Bull Run :)
I also get to work on basic alphabet identification, parts of speech, and writing!
Here are my plans -
I made the template myself - I searched for a while to find one I liked, and never was able to... So... I made my own. {typical OCD} :)

Since I can't link a jpg with hyperlinks [or if there is a way... I don't know it]
- here are links to my materials...
Informal Phonics Inventory (google - curry schools and scribd will pop up)

It will be a busy week - but I am excited to get back into it.
Are you all on break still? Why do you go back?

visual plans 3.4.13

This week I am really focusing on the CCGPSRI {Common Core Georgia Performance Standards Reading Informational}
I am doing a lot of non-fiction units with my kiddos, all grade levels. I am using a unit that I have created, I am currently creating, and ones that I have purchased to accomplish this. I am also using reading a to z and raz-kids for my non-fiction literature component. We are focusing on finding details and information in text and creating graphic organizers to help with study skills.

My 4th and 2nd grades are doing a lot of hands - on this week - which will be great - those two grade levels are my lowest ELL's. I also have Google Earth queued up - so we can look at different landforms. I am also taking my Kinders on a field trip to Washington D.C. {VIRTUAL ONE!}
We are going to visit the monuments! And I am so excited!
We will also be writing on Friday. WHOOOHOOO! {no - not really} oy vay!
So - here are my plans - {BASIC, BASIC, BASIC}
I linked up with Mrs. Wills Kindergarten for her visual plans linky! Wow - these ladies are awesome!
